NBA Legend Alonzo Mourning Returns From Haiti with Project Medishare

MIAMI – January 16, 2010 – Alonzo Mourning is expected to return from Haiti with Dr. Barth Green from Project Medishare, tonight at Opa-Locka Airport / Turnberry Aviation.

Yesterday, Mourning traveled to Haiti with a team of doctors from Project Medishare to offer assistance to Haitian victims of the earthquake.  Mourning announced yesterday that he along with Dwyane Wade will put their efforts behind raising funds from their fellow colleagues to support Haiti thru the “Athlete Relief Fund For Haiti.”

Lennar Corporation announced today that it will match funds raised – up to one million dollars. Funds raised will be directed to organizations on the ground, specifically Project Medishare, which is actively working to support the Haitian people.

Project Medishare is dedicated to sharing its human and technical resources with its Haitian partners in the quest to achieve quality healthcare and development services for all. Project Medishare is working closely with Haitian President René Préval to organize all medical teams on the ground and implement a plan to set up field hospitals and triage centers around the capital city of Port au Prince.
